Climate Explainer Toolkit (CET)
The Climate Explainer Toolkit (CET) is a flagship resource designed by the Partnership for Agile Governance and Climate Engagement (PACE) Media Consortium with the publication led by Climate Africa Media Initiative & Centre (CAMIC) to empower Nigerian journalists, editors, and media professionals to transition from reactive disaster reporting to proactive, data-driven climate accountability journalism.
Funded and developed to bridge the gap between complex climate science and public understanding, the CET demystifies technical policies and heavy jargon such as the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), the Energy Transition Plan (ETP), and Carbon Mathematics into clear, practical, and localized narratives.
Field-tested extensively by journalists and media practitioners across Abuja and Kano, the toolkit serves as an indispensable desk reference and field manual. It equips reporters with the exact formulas, fact-check metrics, and regional insights needed to scrutinize climate finance, hold policymakers accountable, and translate global climate commitments into meaningful stories for everyday citizens across Africa.
