Mr. Desmond Majekodunmi

Mr. Desmond Majekodunmi is a renown environmental activist and multidimensional engineer, who has received many awards in recognition of his laborious works on agriculture and environment. He has won the Nigerian Silverbird TV “Man of the Year” and DW German TV network “Environment Hero”.

A certified experimental extension farmer for International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) Ibadan, Mr. Majekodunmi owns and operates the Majekodunmi Agricultural projects in Lagos, the only agro forestry based conservation farm in Nigeria’s economic centre, a portion of which has been registered as an Urban Forest Park.

He lectures frequently on ecosystem, conservation and climate change adaptation and mitigation and runs a weekly radio program, “Environment Report” on Nigeria Info 99.3 FM radios station. He is a tourism development consultant through his company Desco Tourism Developments, to several state governments. He is also an author, script writer, musician and documentary film maker and was recently commissioned by the German Green party to produce a film on climate change in Nigeria.

He qualified as an electro acoustic engineer at the Norwich City College, UK, and has worked with De Lane Lea/CTS UK, Phillips Nigeria and Columbia Broadcasting Services Kenya. He is a Council member of Nigerian Conservation Foundation, consultant to A Way-Out, UK, Trustee of Legacy Historical and Environmental Interest Group, and President of Lekki Urban Forest & Animal Sanctuary Initiative (LUFASI)s Reserved.
