Dr. Namane Magau

A thoroughbred administrator and educationist, Dr. Namane Magau was on the executive team of the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), one of the largest public enterprises in South Africa owning 19 Radio and six television stations. She was a Divisional Director at the Development Bank of South Africa (DBSA) from where she joined the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) as Executive Vice President.

She is currently the Board Chairman of the famous NTP and Bertha Gxowa Foundation, South Africa, and a trustee of the Nozala Trust and UCT Graduate School of Business. Dr. Magau is part of a women’s investment group, Tselane Energy, which invests in the South African energy sector and she had served on the boards of Murray & Roberts, Merrill Lynch South Africa, and Santam.

She holds a Doctorate in Education from Harvard and served on the Board of Harvard Educational Review. She is an expert researcher on women’s economic empowerment and has been involved in several studies to promote the participation of Women Owned Enterprises in the economy. Dr. Magau was President of the Business Women’s Association (BWA), as well as President of the International Women’s Forum, South Africa.
